BETWEEN US We’ve been Working in comedy for LITERALLY DECAdes, and know what it takes to run an excellent club WTH A BRILLIANT ATMOSPHERE.

at our welcoming venues, you'll feel right at home whether you’re a seasoned live comedy fan or a first time visitor to see stand-up!

Who we are

A man, Alex Zane, with dark hair and facial hair wearing a brown jacket over a dark shirt, looking at the camera with a slight smile, standing against a plain gray background.

Alex first entered comedy as a finalist in ‘So You Think You’re Funny?” and, after leaving medical school to pursue a career in stand up, Alex has been a regular on the comedy circuit for over twenty years.

As well has his live appearances he’s a known for his TV comedy work including Channel 4’s Balls of Steel and Rude Tube and for his film journalism as the face of Sky Cinema, where he’s interviewed every A-Lister imaginable. His crowning glory is being on the exclusive Tom Cruise Cake List, something he never fails to mention.

Alex’s first club was the legendary Ministry of Comedy which he set up while at UCL in 1999. As a performer he knows what makes a great room for stand-up and ensures the best atmosphere possible for a wonderful night of comedy, for both the audience and the acts.

Portrait of a woman, Hils Jago, with light purple hair, glasses, and a black background.

Hils Jago always preferring live entertainment moved from a rock 'n' roll past with tales of drinking with Jimi Hendrix, across to comedy on the panel of the 1988 Edinburgh Fringe's Perrier Awards. In the late-1990s she fully established herself by launching multi-awardwinning Amused Moose Comedy, named to align with Time Out's A-Z listings, so "Amused" first, then eventually opting for "Moose" despite Mark Watson dubbing it a poor rhyme.

She built it into a London juggernaut, running six Soho comedy nights weekly, national tours, and Fringe productions including programming Underbelly's first comedy year, having invented the successful, lengthy Fringe preview season.

BBC and Channel4 sponsorship came as recognition of Jago's ability to identify so many stars of the future by spotting Jack Whitehall's instant charisma and Sarah Millican's peerless shine, kickstarting their rises as were those of Alex Zane to become the face of MTV, Greg Davies and little Alex Horne, Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, Katherine Ryan, Masked Singer's Joel Dommett and Last Leg's Josh Widdicombe.

Oli Gilford is a London-based producer, writer, comedian, editor and recovering journalist. His work spans TV shows like 'Big Fat Quiz of the Year', sketch shows at Edinburgh and other fringe festivals, international stage shows, social media and broadcast news.

He has written and script-edited renowned fart jokes and songs for 'Operation Ouch! Live' since 2018, and his clips online have amassed millions of views, mostly by baffled psychiatrists.

His satirical archive documentary 'Alcohol: A Sobering look' was featured in the British Comedy Guide, and he regrets making a heavy and inconvenient attaché case part of his stand-up act.

Also he loves rinse aid.
